Fort Myers Beach sits on Estero Island in Lee County, FL. Anglers get direct access to two different fishing environments within a short run of the dock.
To the west, the open Gulf of Mexico stretches toward deep reefs and wrecks stacked with bottom fish. To the east, the backwaters of Estero Bay weave through mangrove shorelines, oyster bars, and grass flats holding a wide range of inshore species. Few places along the Gulf Coast pack that kind of variety into a single day on the water.
The waters around Fort Myers Beach, Pine Island Sound, and the Caloosahatchee River support fish year-round. Seasonal shifts bring tarpon runs, stronger redfish schools, and peak snapper action. There is almost always something worth targeting, no matter when you visit.
Half-Day Deep-Sea Trips
The half-day trip departs at 9 a.m. and returns at 3 p.m. The crew runs 15 to 22 miles into the Gulf and targets snapper, grouper, grunts, porgies, triggerfish, and sharks during summer months. This format works well for families, first-timers, and anyone with a packed vacation schedule who still wants real offshore action.
Private Charters
A private charter gives your group the whole boat. Trips can be tailored to your goals, whether that means more stops, more time on the water, or a specific part of the Gulf. Groups looking for a focused and customized experience tend to prefer this option.
Night Fishing Trips
Night fishing trips depart at 6 p.m. and run into the early morning hours. Fishing after dark in the warm Gulf waters near Fort Myers Beach produces a different mix of species. The experience feels completely different from a daytime run.
Gulf and offshore species commonly targeted on deep-sea fishing charter trips include red and mangrove snapper, grouper, grunts, porgies, triggerfish, and sharks (summer months).
Inshore and backwater species found in Estero Bay and nearby grass flats include snook, redfish, and speckled trout. Pine Island Sound, just north of Estero Island, is also known for strong tarpon and redfish populations. Dolphin and manatee encounters are common in the bay areas.
The crew handles the details so you can focus on catching fish:
1. Arrive at the dock on San Carlos Blvd before departure.
2. Board and receive a safety and fishing rundown from the crew.
3. Run out to productive Gulf spots 15 to 22 miles offshore.
4. Fish multiple stops while experienced mates bait hooks and remove your catch.
5. Return to the dock, where the crew cleans your fish at trip's end.
No gear or experience is required. Mates assist beginners and seasoned anglers alike throughout the trip.
